This has been available for sometime - Google Earth also features a flight simulator as well....

There's also a Google moon. It used to have the feature that when you zoomed in too far, on the tiles saying "Imagery isn't available at this zoom resolution, try zooming out", the background was green cheese!

Didnt know they did a flight sim but you can log your flight sim flights from flight sim X onto google earth to plot your waypoints.

Ps.hope i dont get charged for every time i said "flight sim" ;)
