I was on Thurso beach late this afternoon, in between the rain and hail, and there is lots of flotsam and jetson there. It can provide excellent foreground interest in landscapes as you have very successfully shown.:)

Hello Raven, the angle of the fishbox is really good and the (dare I say it?) B/W on the bleak beach is excellent. The floats on the beach do not work for me as it looks very cluttered. Also, it does not work in B/W for me either.

I need some convincing that B/W is a good medium [except for some of your graveyards]. I must do some more graveyard scenes. St Peters Kirk, Thurso, is not bad, but I must go and have a look at the ones in Castletown. :-)

Some more Dunnet beach waste (mainly fishing nets, rope etc). The sea is being used as a dustbin!! Taken last year.

@ Deemac,

looks like a heap of ropey spaghetti! It`s a shame what is washed up on the beaches nowadays!

@ Mr Psyber,

cluttered foreground, cluttered background -- clean foreground, clean background :-) It`s all in proportion to each other :-)))

Och, loads of rope and nets have always been on Dunnet Beach after the tide, as long as I can remember anyway!

The odd mine too!

Ok, so I'm still practising at presentation. I've had advice from two of the best Orgers on how to prepare my photos - now it's just up to me! Oh dear....

That is certainly the best presentation of a rubbish photo by a long way :-)
Now we know what tough fishermen use to keep their legs clean and smooth :-)

(I would have probably put the bottle diagonally in the pic)

How about these legs? Oh, it's a shame; somebody somewhere lost their favourite doll.

Hello Isis, I know it's out of focus, but it's a great shot. Even better if was opportunistic. It gave me a laugh, thanks.

Also, I have similar photos of sodium hydroxide containers on Torrisdale beach. Who uses so much NaOH at sea?
