This latest vaccination amnesty is merely a marketing ploy by Intervet to get as many people as they can to vaccinate more often then is actually needed.

The following information is taken from the National Office of Animal Health :http://www.noahcompendium.co.uk/Intervet_UK_Ltd/Nobivac_DHPPi/-29487.html
who hold data sheets for all animal drugs & vaccines. This is for Nobivac, one of the vaccines they are offering at reduced prices.

"A duration of immunity of at least three years has been established for the canine distemper virus, canine adenovirus and canine parvovirus vaccine components "

"Primary course vaccination
A single injection should establish active immunity to canine distemper, infectious canine hepatitis and disease caused by canine parvovirus infection in dogs of 10 weeks of age or older."

"Booster vaccination
It is recommended that dogs be revaccinated with canine distemper virus, canine adenovirus and canine parvovirus every 3 years and against canine parainfluenza virus every year."

Why encourage people to give 2 vaccines when they themselves state that one is sufficient to provide immunity? Also why give a booster after 18 months if the last vaccine protects for at least 3 years?? Are they only offering vaccines for Parainfluenza as it is the only one reccomended yearly, doubtful as it sounds from the vaccinationmonth website as though they are giving the full lot.

Over vaccination is making a lot of animals chronically ill an even resulting in the death of some. Please have a look here to find out more info before you fall for the hype:
http://www.canine-health-concern.org.uk/ Maybe not such a bargain if it is your pet who suffers.

Sorry guys I forgot to mention that its for dogs, cats and rabbits. I think for the ticket I got for Milo I get a free healthcheck so it would be well worth checking it out and seeing what you can get really :D
