With ever increasing fuel oil prices what is the most efficient way of running oil fired central heating. we have a single boiler which runs the radioators as well as heating the hot water tank in the loft with isolation valves on both circuits. Is it best to run the boiler at a low heat with the thermostatic radiator valves turned wide open or run the boiler at a high heat with the valves closed down and should it be running 24 hrs a day or on a timer ?
what do you think ????
all answers considered
Cheers

i'm having a go at haveing the boiler turned to low and haveing the heating on longer through the day to see if this makes a diferance also turned the thermostat down but with the radiators open. i have had the boiler turned up this year and have used more oil than useual ithink but that could be my imagination as the price of fuel does make take notice more.
spelling not my strong point
