wondering if anyone can help me. I have a gateway laptop that has stopped working, it has power in it but screan looks blaks and a line comes across it then it goes pale in colour but nothing else.. anyone able to repair? or know someone that could look at it for me ............. PLEASE

When the laptop starts up does any text come up at all, or is it just the line from the start? If you're getting nothing then it's possible the screen is dead/dying - I've got a new contact for fixed-price laptop repairs but I've never used them before myself, so can't comment on them.

thanks Stevie -- pc working great-- i cant get on - chip been there since dinner time!!! i got documents to open when i transferreed them to laptop by pen so all working great
