LOL Raven - we were there last weekend as well, so probably did pass each other on the way!

I used to have family living in Skerray, so we spent a while there first - having a picnic in the rain!

Yes, most of the pics are from Skerray, and a few taken in Tongue as well.

Skerray is such a lovely place - I took a pic of Jimsons's old house, which is now a type of museum! Our family used to live next door. :)

Aye , theyr'e all taken on the North coast.
Very nice pics indeed.

Funny how Caithnessians think that West of Reay is the West coast.
It is West of Reay, but its the North coast.

If anyone thinks the coast out towards Durness is good , just wait till you see the scenery round the corner of Cape Wrath on the real West Coast.:D

Check a map folks, it'll give you an idea of the layout. Well worth a trip .
Its about 90 miles to Kinlochbervie.

Happy hunting. D - E

Right, I give up! I apologise for calling this the West Coast.

Views from the North Coast.....

I'm not sure how to edit my title, so this will have to do for you!

...here it is. If you're wondering why I look a bit cheesed off it's not 'cause I was on holiday....just that it was a long walk to look at a glorified chimney pot!!
Seriously though the views from up there are stunning and I'm so glad I made it!

Wonder if this is wtill there, we christened it The Great Snake of Skerray some years back and each time we have been down to the harbour since, it's still been there,
Favourite spot of ours for just chilling and bird watching.

KC1 - nice pic of Skerray pier - it always looked like a dodgy place to take a boat into, if you didnt know the way !

Raven - Lovely pic of Castle Varrich and Hope.
Been up Hope summer and winter , up to Varrick too , noticed there's a new path now , and I've fished below the castle !

This pic rates way up in my top ten.

Cheers

Does anyone know anything about the old abandoned village west of Skerray.
A clearance village West of Lamigoe and before Tongue Bay ?

Took some pics at the old clearance settlement behind Strathy a while back. That's a very , very interesting place for pics .

I know you're only trying to wheedle your way into my affections BB....
It's obvious you have an affinity with older men. I mean, look at Gorgeous George, resplendent on all your posts...I could give you so much more than two fingers.

...of Tongue. An incredible beach at Melness...and almost totally deserted.
July '06. A heatwave in England...cool here, in more ways than one but we made the right choice. The beaches down there will have been thronged (ugh). I'll never forget our days in Sutherland....we'll be back !
