every so often my computer says not responding ?? what seems to be the prob ??

at the top where it say microsoft internet Explorer and i have win xp home

Could be a virus or that you have too many programs installed on your computer.

what prog or progs do i take off ??

Any programs which you do not use or ones that take up a lot of your storage capacity. Also any that are pointless to have on your computer.
