Is anyone else having a problem accessing their pm's on caithness.org?

I have received 2 new pm's but I can't access them, and I can't access any of my saved pm's either.

Just wondering if it is just me, or a general problem with the site?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

Same here. Instead of the pm, all I see is:

Could not query private message post information

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1016 Can't open file: 'privmsgs_text.MYD'. (errno: 145)

SELECT u.username AS username_1, u.user_id AS user_id_1, u2.username AS username_2, u2.user_id AS user_id_2, u.user_sig_bbcode_uid, u.user_posts, u.user_from, u.user_website, u.user_email, u.user_icq, u.user_aim, u.user_yim, u.user_regdate, u.user_msnm, u.user_viewemail, u.user_rank, u.user_sig, u.user_avatar, pm.*, pmt.privmsgs_bbcode_uid, pmt.privmsgs_text FROM privmsgs pm, privmsgs_text pmt, users u, users u2 WHERE pm.privmsgs_id = 43763 AND pmt.privmsgs_text_id = pm.privmsgs_id AND ( ( pm.privmsgs_to_userid = 548 AND pm.privmsgs_type = 3 ) OR ( pm.privmsgs_from_userid = 548 AND pm.privmsgs_type = 4 ) ) AND u.user_id = pm.privmsgs_from_userid AND u2.user_id = pm.privmsgs_to_userid

I was going to pm the admin guys to tell them, but then I realised...

Looks like a problem with the message database.

Thanks guys - that's the same message I have been getting all morning.

I noticed a problem with messageboards first thing this morning, which indicated a database problem, so it must be something to do with that.

Thanks for the prompt fix Mr Blade :D

FYI I spotted an oddity with "find all posts by ..." some time ago, but it didn't seem sufficiently important to make a fuss about. However, since we're on the topic of problems...

If I look at (say) my profile (http://www.caithness.org/phpBB/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=548) and click on Find all posts by DrSzin (http://www.caithness.org/phpBB/search.php?search_author=DrSzin), I create a page which says "Search found 308 matches". However if I click on Next (http://www.caithness.org/phpBB/search.php?search_id=1340623200&start=30) in the bottom RH corner, I get taken to a page which says "No topics or posts met your search criteria".

I should say that the "feature" isn't restricted to my profile. I've just done the same thing from Zambo's profile and found the same problem. However, there does seem to be some intermittency -- sometimes it does list the user's next page of posts.

Any ideas?

Ok, I've had a quick poke around. The problem seems to have something to do with the search string constructed when I click on "Next". If I construct a search string containing "search_author=DrSzin" instead of "search_id=961426466" then it works. For example this search string (http://www.caithness.org/phpBB/search.php?search_author=DrSzin&start=30) does the trick.

After a bit more messing about, it seems the feature only arises when I'm using Firefox or Mozilla. I get it on Win XP (both Professional and Home Edition) and on Linux (Red Hat), but it seems to be intermittent on all of them. And trying to track down the cause is driving me nuts.

But I don't get the problem at all with IE -- thank goodness. :D

Is anyone still having a prob with pm's?

I've managed to access all my pm's now, apart from one, which just won't open. It just keeps refreshing the inbox page.

Probably just me!
