View Full Version : Best place to stay in inverness?
Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good place to stay in inverness for one night? Ideally somewhere close to the airport but that has public transport near by cause, no car! :)
Thanks
Can't recommend anything but this is a good website http://www.scotland-inverness.co.uk/inverness-accommodation.htm

The airport is quite far out of town but there is a bus service - link from the airport website. My favourite place to stay is the Royal Highland Hotel - currently offering dinner, bed and breakfast for £69. A very elegant, traditional hotel with a grand staircase just like you see in "titanic". The bistro, ASH, does great food. It is walking distance of the bus station and right on the railway station.

What is the current cost of a taxi to the airport from Caithness?

Around £110. You may be able to haggle a bit off if the Taxi's are quiet.

Holy smoke!
It is a long time since I shared a taxi to Inverness, a long long time!
yowza thats a lot of money, but I suppose if you compare the cost of an overnight stay and time maybe it's not so bad.

At up to 6 hours of a taxi drivers time, and £30 worth of fuel, it doesn't seem expensive at all.

How about Wetherspoons?
£35 and cheap food, and just round the corner from the bus stop too!

Meant to say, B and B in Kenneth Street for £20. Short walk to bus station, about 10 mins at a nice easy pace.

no worries, :D
Raigmore Motel, I stay here for £30 bed and breakfast, very clean, good breakfast and quite central. Travelodges have 2 in inverness and they have special rates now. Drakies cottage opposite Raigmore motel are very good and £25 per night b and b.
Thanks for the suggestions :)
Hi, if you look up thejet.co.uk on the internet you will get the bus times from Inverness to the Airport, i think they run pretty frequently and are cheap. This is a relatively new servicethat runs from the bus station in Inverness.
Can't give you any advice on accommodation though sorry - I always stay at my mam and dads - first class service but always fully booked LOL!
not 'the best' but reasonable: Travelodge, click on http://www.travelodge.co.uk/ (http://www.travelodge.co.uk/) then find a saver room, put in Inverness and they can be got for £29 from 11th Feb onwards..

Travelodge is like McDonalds, low risk. You know what you're going to get and that you won't be too shocked by the price.
Big Sister's house. Even includes a breakfast and I haven't had to complain once!!
