Xylitol, a sugar substitute used mainly in diabetic foods is seemingly toxic to dogs.

Thanks for that.Nice to now that giving your dog anything other than food that is not for dogs is harmfull.
I have to say that my dogs dont get human food no mater what unless it is maybe cold meats as a treat.Cakes and the likes are out..They live on dog food(dried) and that that for them...
They dont even get doggy chocolate.They get chew hides as treats, better for their teeth...

Hide chew treats can be a choking hazard too, :roll: I never leave Cara unattended with one to be on the safe side. Worse than kids ;)

Benjy got one of these lodged in his throat once!
He now gets Tripe Sticks which I still only give under supervision.
