Thought these primroses might remind you that Spring is just around the corner.

If those are recent photos, then hope springs eternal ;)
Taken yesterday sassylass, more to come weather permitting.
Yeux, the holly looks really prickly! Dont want to touch my monitor right now ;-)
Yep, hopefully spring will roll on.... BUT FIRST I want some snow!!!! :-)

If the forecasts are to be believed, get the new camera ready for Friday. I too have waited for quite a few years for some decent snow in Caithness.

Lizz, for me this is by far your best shot. I'd have aimed for greater depth of field (out of focus background). Nice work.:Razz

Greater, or wider, depth of field would give you more in focus front to back. If you want to pick out the snowdrops by blurring out the background vegetation reduce or narrow the dof.
:)
Awww Lizz, you know I love snowdrops! Thanks so much for posting such fantastic pics. They give me hope of spring. -H

There always has to be a picky . I know what I meant.

I assumed you had just worded it wrongly.
For those learning about making images, I added my post for clarification. We cannot have people hoping to learn something getting things totally the wrong way round!
I certainly wouldn't say I was being picky!
You will notice I am never part of the 'correcting spelling gives me an innate sense of superiority' brigade, and I have a similar disregard for that smarty pants mentality wherever I encounter it!
I would have probably gone lower, pushing a few snowdrops aside to give me a grouping that pleased my eye against the darkest background available. We all approach things differently.
Some like to record the scene as near they found it as possible; rather than contrive a new one.
:)
I prefer the first snowdrop picture with the water droplets on them. Really grabbed my attention.
Would beg to disagree the heavy black frame detracts from the delicacey of the flowers.
I'm not one to enhance my photos I like them au naturel although I will some times resize or crop.
;) Well you could have at least adjusted the white balance

Don't. It's a fantastic site - there's not much green out here. I would give it some tomato feed. If it is a hebe it will flower like crazy. I have not seen a real hebe in 4 years:~(.
Its a Hebe, Lizz and started of at about 6ins, and has grown, and now is out over the path. I'm trying to grow a clematis up through it, so hope it works.

We've had a couple of bitingly cold days but no rain or snow, the gardens down here are totally confused my fuchias are already in full leaf in the sheltered corners of the garden and the tulips are up 6" !

These are a very old variety of daffodil. I salvaged the bulbs some 40yrs ago from the garden where I was brought up in Cornwall, they are still my favourites.

Spring might have sprung in Hove but up here it's blooming cold and Spring looks to be arriving with Summer or then again perhaps Autumn.
Still looking on the bright side at least the mower can stay in the shed, grass aint growing either. lol

Darned clever Sapphire2803! How did you get the lamb to tightrope walk along the barbed wire?

Lots of practice and every time he was giving up I reminded him about the jar of mint sauce in the kitchen
Where can I get some seed Sapphire and what sort of compost would it need?

I got this rare shot of Mount Robson without clouds last week near the Alberta/ B.C. border. It is the highest peak in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Shot through the front windshield of my 30 foot motor home travelling at 100 kph.

Wow, Donsic, what an awesome sight. Beautiful.
Super shot, donsinc! It reminds me of the time hubby and I spent in the Colorado Rockies, when we were living in Denver. Do you have any more pics of the Canadian Rockies to share with us, please?

What an attractive option - is there a choice of colours?
That's brilliant grumpyhippo but what happens when the petals fall off?
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i316/kenliz/ANymansia.jpg
Clematis nymansia so called as it was discovered at Nyman's gardens which are only a few miles from here
.http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i316/kenliz/Alightblueflag.jpg
The last to bloom of the flag irises in the garden, would be wonderful if all three colours flowered at the same time.

I suppose it means the bulb's blown.:lol:
Would that mean there will be NO more "Tulips from AMP sterdam?"

Not sure about the seed or compost, but they certainly seem to make their own fertiliser! :D
I love this thread, Ooh that reminds me. Lizz, what are those big daisy thingies called? I want some of those. Hubby mowed over mine and they haven't recovered.
My nan had them in her garden, so they always remind me of her.
As you can tell, I'm not much of an expert in the garden.
