I have just bought a copy and so far I have found it a very interesting read even though the data is 40 years old. A need for an update perhaps?

Anyway, in the weather and climate section, Donald Omand goes on to describe the amount of snow the county usually gets per year.

Snow is a regular feature of the Caithness climate and falls fairly frequently; the long term average for the number of days on which snow was observed to fall at Wick is 35 days per year but this seems to to have increased in recent years to nearer 50.

I wonder what effect this warming is having on our fauna and flora in the long term?
