There is a link to the story here:-

http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,70131-1301898,00.html

The live Sky News coverage was shambolic. The "correspondent" turned out to be a guy who knew next to nothing about Heath and who freely admitted that he was reading from Heath's page on Wikipedia!!

Another "expert" was asked "What is your reaction to this shocking news?", the reply came "I'm shocked". Hardly insightful!!

I think it would have been more respectful to the poor man to have spent some time actually finding out a bit more about him and presenting something much more professional.

A sad waste of a young life.

Very sad and shocking news indeed. (Fox news has it covered right now if anyone's interested).

Particularly sad for his wee 2yr old daughter Matilda Rose.:(

OH & I are the same - he was great in both films and "A Knights Tale" has been in our top 10 since its first viewing. It's even become a favourite of our kids too.

An absolute tragedy for the acting fraternity

He played the Joker in the soon to be released Batman film - Dark Knight. He was also halfway through filming a new Terry Gilliam film.

I forgot about 'A Knights Tale'. It was a brilliant film and Heath Ledger was a great lead role.
So sad.

When stuff like this happens the worst thing is when people jump on it.

Khaled Ali, a 41-year-old Broadway stage manager, left a candle and said: "I felt a connection with him as an actor, as a fellow in the theatre community."

"With Brokeback Mountain he touched me personally in telling the story of my community. It was very touching."

Get over it. What community? You're a ruddy Indian! Gay or not Ennis Delmar was a Cowboy. He'd of shot you right in your face!

Hi Donnie,

I think you are getting your American Indians and your Asian Indians a bit mixed up!;)

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/skynews/20080124/twl-heath-ledger-death-baptist-group-to-3fd0ae9.html

A controversial church described as a "hate group" has said it will protest at Heath Ledger's memorial service because he played a gay character in Brokeback Mountain.

This is ridiculous...he was an actor playing a part and brilliantly at that. Trust religion to come into such a sad situation.[evil]

I really hope this isn't true but if these are the nutters I think they are (Louis Theroux had a programme on them) then it wouldn't surprise me.
They are a horrible bunch of homophobes who masquerade as Christians.
The fact that Heath Ledger wasn't homosexual(not that it would matter if he was!) doesn't seem to matter to them!

Just a bunch of arses, parading as something they will never be. America seems to specialise in these weirdos, who jump on every facet of society and overlook the fact that they are a bunch of intolerant numpties who have not the foggiest idea of loving their fellow humans, faults and all. If Heaven DID exist, these would be the least likely candidates for entry. PATHETIC individuals, one and all.

Is indeed the Westboro Baptist Church, who Louis Theroux did and also appeared on Jeremy Kyle.(Both of which can be seen on youtube) But then what can we expect from a group who believes that "the Virginia Tech massacre wass a sign God is furious with America's acceptance and practice of homosexuality.".

This group also went to New York after the September 11 terrorist attacks to protest the rescue efforts going on there, mocking victims as they were taken from the rubble, shouting obscenities at rescue workers and demanding that those still alive be left to die

Agreed, thinks that sums it up pretty well!

Interesting fact about the "church" they have 80 members and 80% of them are related.
