Very interesting link, it's good to see pictures of the boats too. We can put a name to the lights we see passing by at night now :)

I've been on this for a little while and its ace. Not all vessels are registered which i think they should make it mandatory for us nosey types!
It was great last night as there was a big car transporter ship passing my house and as it was dark i was really curious if it was a cruise ship as i couldn't make it out properly. Not much gets past us Caithnessians.

Does anyone know if there is a similar site for aircraft? It would be interesting to see when the Tornado`s are about rather than just hearing them as they pass.

I'm not so sure about that availability.
I met a hanglider who'd just landed on a hill behind Helmsdale a few years ago and he said that although he'd telephoned all the air bases before he took off, there were still aircraft zooming by. That's why he landed.

I also was working in the forestry with helicopters a while back and if they saw a jet flying past, that was it for the day , just to be on the safe side !

Hey MIKNHEV
If you want to see Tornados just check the web to see when Cape Wrath firing range is active. They're usually about then.
Try M.O.D. firing ranges or something as a search - even "Cape Wrath MOD " ??.
