Gulls in September.

Shrieking and soaring
Riding the sky –
Winds loudly roaring
Drowning their cry –
Gulls in September ! –
Upward they fly.

Wheeling and circling,
With silver wing
Crying and hurtling
High! High! They fling
Gulls in September ! –
Fly quivering.

Down they come falling
Breast to the wave,
Grey spread and calling,
Graceful and grave.
Gulls in September ! –
Gallant and brave.
