Caught a quick report on the evening news about a doctor who practises in Poland 4 days a week, drives to the airport, flies to Glasgow, drives to Aberdeen and is then on call as far as I could see all night without even a cup of tea before he started. I find this truly frightening. More on Newsnight Scotland tonight.

gotta go now ......

Be hoping I don't get sick.

Purely playing 'Devils Advocate' here so don't throw stones at my house!

A) If the nice Polish Dr didn't attend ..who would?

B) How do you know that ANY Dr who sees you hasn't just got in from a long haul flight?

I'm not suggesting it's ideal..just questioning the basics!

I don't, which doesn't make me feel any better at all.

You're right Karia and the interview on Newsnight (sorry it wasn't Scotland btw, misheard that) didn't reassure me at all. Actually that was odd because it was on the national bit and seemed to be talking about English NHS whereas the Polish doctor was practicising in Scotland where I thought health was devolved.

The old system where GPs were on call at night after a full day's surgery was bad. This doesn't seem any better. Any chance they'll get it right one day?
