No prizes for guessing but give yourself a pat on the back if right.

I will try the Freswick Dovecote.

Well done!!

I will have to try harder...though I think you had the advantage of local pro-active photo-journalism as your personal hobby :D
Can you bite your lip if I do another picture quiz?

cheers

Although I have been up to the Freswick Dovecote a couple of times and taken photos from the outside I have not actually been inside it.

I did think it was unlikely to be a well from the shape and then thought about other round structures and the dovecotes were an obvious one. You can at least get into them through a door whereas a well would have needed you to climb in - not too safe!!

There are not many round ones and the ones I thought of were Dale and Freswick. There are photos of the Dale Dovecote and I checked that but there are trees above when looking up - See it at http://www.caithness.org/atoz/dovecotes/dalehousedovecote/index.htm
The Freswick one looked as if it was slightly mis-shapen and the photo on the site looks as if there is slight bash at the top. Sorry the largerone seems to have been lost.

I have been around lots of places and poked my camera at quite bit since commencing the web site and being in the Field Club has pointed me to many unsusal features in the landscape.

I will pass on the next test.

Cheers
