I need to travel to Inverness to be there at 05:30 am tomorrow, and I cannot decide if I should leave this afternoon and book a room to sleep ( does anyone know a cheap B&B in Inverness???) or drive down at 02:00 am....will there be ice on the roads, especially after the snow gates. I was trying to find that webcam/weather station up in the hills on the A9 after the snow gates, but cannot find it online. Does anyone know how to find it? Is it called the Ord web cam.

Here are a couple of links to help you decide whether to travel this afternoon or drive in the early hours, personally at this time of the year I would always try to make the journey during the daytime.

Whatever you decide have a safe journey.

The weather is so changable just now, I would go during the day and get a B&B.

You will get B and B in Kenneth Street, Inverness for £20 for the night. There are at least a dozen B and B's here so you wont have any bother finding a vacancy.

I think the Ord Webcam went when the road was being re-aligned.

Watch out for red deer if you travel down at night, especially around the Ord and just south of Helmsdale.
