Turning things off at the mains -- The outlets over here have no on/off switch and it is a pain to keep unplugging everything. I'm going to check with an electrician on getting a greenswitch. https://www.greenswitch.tv. Seemingly, all the outlets can be routed to one main switch that turns everything off in one shot -- great for when one leaves the house, goes to bed, or any time in between. Things like cordless phones, refrigerator, alarm clock, etc., can be left as is.
