Calling on your help once again Orgers ! Donald Douglas dob 16/12/1833 , was alive & living with his family in Lyth, Bower at 1871 census. However by 1881 census his widow and family were living in Howe . How can I track down details of his death etc? I've tried all the usual avenues, am hoping someone may be able to shed some light on my dark corner. Thanks in advance, Anne :confused

Was he married to Betsy Rosie? If so then he died June 9th 1874. See Scotland's People website, entry- Statuatory Deaths, 1874, 034/000011 (Bower). Gives his occupation as shepherd, address Lyth, Bower. Father Gerorge Douglas, mother Janet Mill. Cause of death Phthisis Pulmonaris (TB).

Hope this helps.

Linda
