Is there any way i could unlock a sony erricson K610i without going to inverness?

from what i can gather you need to buy cable which plugs into your computer.

i just tried that but i went to a website called unlock search and entered the imei number paid the £2.99 and the email that cost that much said this:

Normally a network provider HAS to give you the code for free if out of contract as you have fulfilled your obligation to them.

I have unlocked numerous nokia's with a data cable and a small program freely available around the net and its very simple.
Threre is a GSM forum somewhere thats very helpful.(cant remember the exact URL but wouldnt be allowed to post on here anyway)

Why pay for it if its freely available?

Ah yes. Just like the Ford garage is normally obliged to remove all Ford badging free of charge from my car after I've finished paying for it and fulfilled my obligations. Of course! :lol::lol:

There's no blanket requirement to do release unlock codes at any time. Phones are supplied locked within the terms of the contract, and unlock codes may be given at the operator's discretion. It's in your contract.
