I wish I'd thought of the name but it was Amanda Platell in the English Daily Mail today.
She was provoked by a tacky picture of a semi naked David BEckham flaunting his phoney looking lunch box in the name of Armani - whoever he is.

She created the generic term to group those who shun education, work ethic etc. and delight in celebrity, instant gratification and shallow, superficial pursuits like binge drinking off yer face behaviour, fat breasts half exposed ale swilling, skirts round their backside lasses and lads collapsing in the street. Obsessed by foreign football played in England and designer clothes which resemble a fleece (think about it - sheep)

I guess it's just a posher way of saving 'chav' but I wish I'd thought of it.

Top woman Amanda - fifty odd and full of common sense.

Beckhams picture looked to be more appealing to homosexuals - some people are desperate.... legs akimbo with a big orange stuffed into his underpants.... and it's not as though he needs the money.
The man has no class.

An interesting linguistic anomally ocurrs when translating vulgar and ordinary into latin based languages (or at least Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and French)and vice versa. When we want to say ordinary, we use the word "vulgar", and when we want to say vulgar, we use the word "ordinario". "Vulgar" comes from the latin root: populace, folk, ordinary people, pertaining from the common people. So maybe in the reverse reflection in english of the word vulgar to it's latin root ( sometimes called "false friends" in "English as a foreign language" classes) reflects, in a way, an ever present class system. The class system in which what is vulgar ( ie: of the common people) becomes something inferior, coarse, mediocre...(otherwise translated as ordinary in the latin root). In other words, what is common is inferior.

Words are fantastic.

I wish I knew Latin. I'm envious.
Any chance of a translation.....
' Live, learn and travel ? '
It's my motto in life - though I need to work on the middle bit.

Veni, vidi, visa - I came, I saw, I bought....

Veni, vidi, velcro - I came, I saw, I stuck around....

The new vulgarians - totally agree with the description. Seeing the Beckhams in their frankly absurd semi porn pose for their perfume made me laugh. It also galls me how any "celeb" thinks it is the done thing to bring out a perfume - Jordan's is the latest I have seen in shops.

I'm thinking of bringing out my own celebrity perfume.

" New from Northener---

'Le Pleb'

Zyklon B for the 21st Century"

Any backers out there?

We can seriously reduce the Vulgarian population with this product!!!!

Tell you what, no matter my personal opinion on Jordan, she is honest. No front. You know what you are buying into.

But isn't she supposed to be getting it reduced?

Latest news on the Posh front is that she has had her breast implants removed. You know, the implants she always denied ever having. Tom Cruise probably told her they might harbour Thetans.

PS Northerner, I don't think Zyklon B jokes are funny.

Don't wish to cause offence, George. But I could have said any poison, or any weapon - they all kill, mate.

Someone better stick a note on the scales then, can just see the dozy mare forgetting and thinking she is losing weight. I have seen fatter twiglets than her, she's like a stick insect (but without the talent)

And am I the only one who refers to the Beckhams as "Thick and Thin" ??

Real women like Amanda Burton and Amanda Redmond are Nice and they are not stick insects and talented and earn there money acting my opinion

I like Katy Price but Dont like Jordan !!! there is a difference fact and fiction again I reckon depends on the media hype and what she is selling be it oversized bras in Asda or family life

As for Posh Spice Mmmm she makes a lotta money from tesco ads etc which are silly plus a ( few live comeback shows ) the pounds roll in to the coffers for her and David

and so the hype goes on do we honestly buy into it
how many people have actually bought the Beckham his and hers perfume this Xmas ?

Its ghastly !!!

One of the greatest plebs of all time!

Actually, that's insulting to Gumbys everywhere. The Gumbys are not ignorant, loudmouthed, shallow and vain flat-earthers, merely dysfunctional and misunderstood........like me.:D

BTW Warfarin's not very good a getting rid of people - my mum's been on it for years and actually looks better for it.

Hmmmm.... must up the dosage.

"You really are a true Vulgarian, aren't you?"

I believe this is a line John Cleese used in "A Fish Called Wanda".
