dial up connection

Can anyone help with little niggle? Have broadband but dial up connection box often pops up mainly when connecting to msn or yahoo and I usually dump it - fine but is there any way I can stop it doing this or why does it do this. Have had a look in Control Panel but can't see anything that might help. Thanks in advance.

I presume you are on broadband and have no need for a dial up connection?

If so then go to the control panel and choose network connections. There will be at least two connections there. Your broadband one (could be a LAN connection instead if you use a home network) and the dial-up one. ALl you have to do is right-click the dial-up one and "Delete".

If your not sure which connection it is post the names of them here along with the details of it. (found on the left hand side of the screen when highlighted)
