My 3 X great grandfather Donald Mackay Was born in Resolis in the Black Isle in 1799 (parents unknown)He turns up in SARCLET in 1831 and marries a HELEN BREMNER born 1797 to Alexander Bremner & Margaret ROBERTSON in MYRELANDHORN in that year. THEIR wedding was held in THRUMSTER The couples first two children were born in Sarclet, CATHARINE in 1833 and ALEXANDER IN 1835.By 1838 the family had moved to Aberdeen.
I am interested in any information about this couple and in the places they lived particularly in their time in CAITHNESS. Were his parents Caithness people passing through the Black Isle at the time of his birth Or did they Migrate to Caithness between 1799 and 1831??? Donald gave his job as labourer and later as labourer to the police in future censuses. I am very anxious to hear more of this part of my family. most frateful for information
