I'm with your first choice anne x - the G & T in the long glass, etc. Tried Black Velvet recently (champagne and guinness) rather nice and I used to love a Black Russian (vodka, tia maria and coke) but haven't had one in ages!

I am definately an ale drinker, but my favourite other drink is Johnny Walker Red over the rocks with Canada Dry Ginger Ale. And I also drink malt whisky and only Highland Park with nothing at all in it.

Favourite ales of the moment.

Samuel Adams - Winter Lager (http://www.beeripedia.com/index.php?title=Samuel_Adams_Winter_Lager&printable=yes)
Oberon (http://www.bellsbeer.com/branddetail.asp?BrandID=7)
Dogfish Head Pale Ale (http://www.dogfish.com/)
Paulaner Heiffe Weisen (german import) (http://www.paulaner.com/home.html)
Breckenridge Oatmeal Stout (http://www.breckbrew.com/beer/oatmealstout.html)
Draught Guinness in glass bottle.
Leinenkugels Sunset Wheat (http://www.leinie.com/)
Upland Wheat (made in Indiana) (http://www.uplandbeer.com/)
Blue Moon Belgian Wheat Beer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Moon_(beer))
Dirty Helen (also made in Noblesville Indiana) (http://barleyisland.tripod.com/index.htm)

Basically I like wheat beers, heiffe weisen and Indian Pale Ales :P

Give me cold, fizzy lager with as many chemicals in it as possible, and I'm a happy lad. In fact, you can put me anywhere in the world and I'd be able to get something close.

However, warm, flat, weak-as-dishwater dark beer brewed from mud with all the chemicals taken out - well, you can pour that down the sink as far as I'm concerned.

I'm with Metalattakk on the lager (colder the better).

I also occasionally indulge in various "expressions" of Highland Park and The Balvenie.

Difficult question - It would have to be dependant on what the situation was

A wee Saturday afternoon session would have to be ice cold Miller Lager

Lying on a sunbed beside a pool somewhere hot would be Tia Maria, Chocolate Milk with tonnes of ice.

With a meal would be a nice Ozzy Shiraz wine.

Christmas eve would be Baileys and ice

and last but by no means least - out on the lash would be Morgans and coke!

For recreational drinking, Guinness, Bass, Newcastle, Belhaven, Sierra Nevada, various Sam Adams brews, Red Tail Ale, Anchor Steam.

With dinner, a nice merlot or shiraz, or a pino grigio with salmon.

And sometimes some Old Pulteney, Highland Park, Lagavuillin, or Glenmorangie. Oh and there's a bottle of Glenfiddich in the desk drawer at work, but keep that quiet, the blighters will sneak in and drink it. :)
