I keep getting this message
Spooler subsystem stopped working.Then windows is looking for a solution.
and will let you know when it finds one
In problems and reports it says no solution found.
I am on Windows Vista home premium.
This is very annoying as it makes your computer freeze.
Does any one else have this problem.
Any one know how to fix it.

Hi Shazzap,

Try the following:

1. Go to Programs and Features in Control panel > click Turn Windows features on or off
2. click + sign of Print services
3. Select LPD and LPR. You should remove Internet Printing Client. > restart your PC to ensure there is no error of spooler service.

4. Add your printer driver again.

Hi Lazytown
Thanks for info but i had to get intouch with HP to assist in updating my drivers as i my printer did not come with the sftware to install with Vista.
My computer and the HP C5180 all in one were not comunicating with each other. It has taken ages to sort and i dare not uninstall it now. It's been a nightmare. If i were more savvy in computer tech i might try it but what i do know is self taught,

Hi shazzap,
I can understand your concern, but you are not actually going to uninstall any of the HP stuff. the most that will happen is that you will lose the printer, but the drivers will still be on your system. So once you reboot the pc it will either come up and tell you new hardware found, in which case you can follow the wizard through and becuase the drivers are already on your system it should find the automatically.
If the found new hardware wizard does not appear once you have restarted you can go into the printers and add a new printer, again follow the add printer wizard through and you will see your manufacturer on the left panel once you select HP, in the right panel you will see your printer model, select that and carry on through the wizard. Hope this helps.

Sorry that never worked.
You could try the following:

Goto start > settings > printers
When it opens the pirinter right click on your printer and goto 'properties'
along the top of the properties dialog box there should be several tabs, click on the 'Advanced tab'.
Half way down the dialog box there is radio button boxes, at the moment yours will be set to spool print documents so programs finishes printing faster.

Try clicking on the 'Print directly to the printer'
Click ok.

Failing that, if you goto 'Start > settings > control panel > administrative tools
you will find an application called event viewer. if you open this and click on the little arrow that point to Windows Logs, it will expand the folder, have a look in the application log to find the event details of the error. The info is displayed in the top portion of the centre pane, look for ones that have a Warning or Error against their level. if you click on on of them the details appear below in the middle pane. Once you find the error if you could copy and paste the contents of the general pane on to here we may be able to narrow the cause down.

Try the following:
Start> Run
In the textbox type
CMD
Click Ok
A black command box opens
Type in the following:

sfc /scanfile=c:\windows\system32\wsdmon.dll

Press enter

you will get one of the following responses:
1) Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

2) Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired
them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

If you got the 2nd response then there was a problem with that file.
Close the black box.

If you got the 2nd response restart your computer.

If you got the 1st response, then I would say the problem lies with the HP Drivers.
Where did you get them from, you can download the vista drivers for your printer from hp website but it is a big download and unless you are on broadband then I would not attempt it. You can also order a disc from HP.
If you are able to download them, then do so. Then Uninstall your current HP drivers from the programs and features in the control panel.
Once uninstalled reboot your computer and reinstall the drivers.

Drivers downloaded from hp.It was a long download.
Im ok on broad band up to 8mbps.
Have disc but it was for xp thats why i had to download from hp.
Will try what you said will keep you posted.

Open Start Menu.
Go to accessories Locate the command prompt under accessories.
Right Click on its shortcut then select Run as Administrator.then run the sfc command

Firstly Lazytown.

Thank you for taking the time to help.
But, it looks like im going to have to put up with this until windows finds a solution.
I have been on their website and looked at their forum.
Apparently the quite a few people are experiencing the same as myself.
