Is it just me or has Wick been taken over by Tesco. All I hear is Tesco this and Tesco that. And people seem to flock to it like midgeys to a cow pat:lol:

Yes, I too shop at tesco and I quite like it, although that seems to be all that everyone seems to talk about. You would think that people would have something more interesting to do with their lives than shop at Tesco, and then go around and describe the experience to everyone. No offence to telfordstar.

if you go to www.tesco.com/newscheme you will see that you are now able to have your wages paid directly to tesco and pick up weekly food parcels from the customer service desk to avoid unnecessery bank charges and queues at the tills. what a clever idea!!

Seems you've overloaded their server as the link is down!!!!!
Worked there, shop there, still will but words of wisdom I would advise anyone shopping any where came from the legend that was sebo:

"keep your hand in your pocket and use your eyes as a guide"

Makes sense really.

thanks dandod for this tesco post. I've been working all day(no not in Tesco) and have just finished my meal and sat down at the computer with my cuppa. This helps me unwind, mind you i've been laughing so much that i keep spilling coffee on my keyboard. I'm busy with paper hankies wiping it off now. never mind though, if the keyboard gets damaged with the coffee i can always go to tesco and buy a new one te he.[lol]

Tesco have had a recruitment centre open for about a fortnight next to the Commercial Hotel. I thought they were going to use all of Somerfields old staff. By the way what's the latest regarding Asda opening?

Grapevine says on one hand that the council won't have an Asda & Tesco in same town - hence Tesco grabbing Sommerfield in Thurso - on the other hand a rumour also says that Asda HAVE purchased land........we can only speculate, unless somebody somewhere is applying for a job at Asda............

glad you enjoy my posts. i think the reason the tesco site is not working is because people have read the posts and are boycotting the store but their love for tesco has taken the better of them and have all decided to shop online.

Well Tesco in Wick is the only reason anyone would want to visit Wick, or indeed Caithness in general really. At least this glorified sheep dip got something right...................

(I jest of course, I actually realy love Caithness and think it is beautiful, before everyone goes mad!)

Good selection, good prices, easy parking are just some of the reasons everyone talks about Tesco.

Those who have a problem with Tesco, well don't shop there.
Those who love Tesco, Happy Shopping to you!

According to the local paper today, all they are saying is, they plan to be open for Christmas. Guess that way they are covered if they hit any snags, but if they don't, well, i guess before Christmas.

I don't shop very often at the Wick Tesco store, but I have always been impressed with the approach steps and ramp. The Caithness slate adds so much character to the place.
