Team of the Week: North FA fighting back 16-Aug-2005

from www.highlandleague.net

There is a predominance of North players in the HFL Team of the Week with Huntly and Keith the only Aberdeenshire clubs represented in the starting line up on a weekend where the current champions were the only team from the ADFA to collect full points.

However the Player of the Week accolade did go to Huntly's Matt Gairns, who seems to like playing at Christie Park. Having set up three goals on the opening day of the season, a 3-2 win over Keith, Gairns claimed two further assists on Saturday and netted the third in a 3-1 win over Deveronvale.

Supersub this week was Nairn County's comeback kid Steve Sanderson who continues to battle his way back to "full fitness" and so coming off the bench to net was an added bonus for the red headed former Fort William man.
