I have come to a brick wall in my research. Please can anyone help me? I have a Sutherland Bremner (think born in Caithness around 1780) Father James Bremner and Mother Ann Sutherland. Does anyone have any information which would help me? Eventually Sutherland moved to Arbroath and married a Jane Watt 1802 - they had around 13 children. Do not have any information on Sutherlands birth or indeed Ann Sutherland or James Bremner.

To Fred and Tricia Thanks for the information you both gave me. It looks like these are my folks and you have given me the details I need to get back further. I would be grateful if you could let me know where you found out about my folks for my future research. I was very interested in the part about Flora Marrying in Manchester Cathedral and ending up in General Prison, Perth (where was that information from?) I am relatively new to this research game only having been doing it for one year and any information on how to go about it would be gratefully received. There has to be information in the Caithness burial grounds for Ann and James family and I would like to research into this also. Thanks again.

I have replied direct to Freda about her family of Sutherland Bremner
but many Bremners can be found at

www.brebner.com

It has many databases and trees to search. Also some graveyard details.

Happy searching
