Hey y'all
My brother has a motability car (automatic), but requires adaptions to the car, it would seem the nearest assessment centre is in Edinburgh, but there is a place that can fit the controls in Morayshire.
Has anyone else had experience of such things and how did they get on with it??
He was not advised of an assessment prior to getting the motability car or advised of the possiblity of modifications either.

Contact the AA - they used to have a department dealing with this sort of thing.

In all honesty I'm pretty sure that the info pack sent out by Motability does say to speak to the dealer where you get your car from about possible adaptations (I'm sure if you get them when your getting the car they are free)

Where did he get his car from? Have you tried contacting the dealer?

You will need to have all adaptations approved by Motability Operations before gettin them fitted 0845 456 4566.

Then you need to phone Royal and Sun Alliance Motability and tell them about your adaptations 0500 373737

Thanks for the help. Brother got his car from Dunnetts Garage, and I don't believe that they were very forthcoming with offering help regarding adaptations when he initially got his car. Never having had a stroke or been disabled before my brother thought he would be okay to drive the car with it just being an automatic, y'see.
