Aaaarrrgggghhh!!! My eyes, my eyes!! White text on a black background = OUCH!!

I'm amazed at the amount of people who think it's alright to use bright text on dark backgrounds.

I've had a look at the new design....a bit too funky for my taste the old site pages were better to look at but on the whole a new look is a great idea.Good Luck with choosing a new look x

Nope - so far I think the original was better - more like Scrabster / Caithness. The new designs could be anywhere. Keep trying, though. :)

[lol] i just feel sorry for anyone looking in not knowing what is going off, a different design for each page it must seem like at the moment, going from original to other designs, i'm taking the chance of looking through them all while the neep is out! lol

must admit, i just uploaded this 'digital eye' background, seems ok ish .... let me know, i'll be back in an hour to see what you think, i need my tea lol

I'm getting the beige background, which is fine, but I'd run a spell checker, or maybe its just me that thinks its important? Maybe I'm just at that awkward age!!!

Don't worry, it's not just you. ;)

The beige is acceptable, but again it's not very 'weather-y' or Scrabster-y'.

young_fishing_neep and Tugmistress, I humbly beg forgiveness, but yes please change the design. I never liked it :(

But, here's the thing. Think long and hard about what you want in terms of design. And then get that design right, and make sure you can use it throughout the site (or at least a reference to it throughout).

I love the site, and think it is one of the most useful and interesting "private" sites I know. But I am just not very keen on the fairly standard joomla look.

Please forgive my honesty :D

I like the Beige background with the brown, very nice.

Im not the most artistic of people and aplogies if I am stating the obvious but have you thought about say a cloud background or something like that ??, or a sunrise or sunset ??

Failing that I would stick with Beige and Brown.

I missed the really bright one, the biege and brown doesn't look that different to what you had does it, or am I in la la land again??? Sorry
But where is the web cam, I used to like to look at that. But actually haven't checked for a bit so it may not even be recent.

Like what's there just now - Wogan Beige. Quite calm on the eyes. Lovely pictures. Thanks for keeping me in contact with my home bay!:)

The beige one is the original, and my apologies for the spelling, i wrote all that is there in one night when i had to do a clean reinstall after getting rid of a trojan hidden somewhere on the database, i'll go through and check it and put any mistakes right, sorry dehaviland and metalattakk :)

Nick, that template is not the original template anyway, it was originally dark background with light writing, i liked the design but not the colours so i changed it lol.

There is a transparent sunset one, i'll change it to that in a minute, but i don't know if it is too distracting ???? opinions please folks, i'll be changed in 30 seconds.

ok change done,
lolabelle the webcam has gone kaput, a very nice gentleman has emailed me about one and is seeing if he can sort one out for me, i hope the one he is looking at is compatible with what i need, i'll keep you updated on it's progress :)

Hey that is really quite nice but perhaps a sunset over the bay would be more appropriate bearing in mind your location. Can you use one of your own super pictures as a background? I am no techie but that would be good if possible.
PS It is super that you care enough to ask our opinions.

Hiya wifie,
I'll have a look at what code i know (which is NOT a lot lol) and see if i can find how to change it  but no promises lol.
I am asking people about it because it is people that use it and hopefully get some use/enjoyment out of it and that is what it is all about. i know i will never please all the people all the time but it does help to please most :)

NickInTheNorth

quite like that with the sunset :)

The easy way to use your own picture as background will be to simply rename your picture to sunset.jpg and put it in the correct folder http://www.tugmistress.co.uk/templates/k-kwadrat_transparent/images/sunset.jpg (http://forum.caithness.org/go.php?url=http://www.tugmistress.co.uk/templates/k-kwadrat_transparent/images/sunset.jpg)
