MY BUFFALO…

At last I saw my buffalo,
They’re dark and black and do not glow.
Trotting down the road to hell
In search of some unearthly smell.

The dead of night I got the call
Words quite harsh both large and small
“I just missed it I don’t how
I thought it was a bloody cow!”
I raised the wife who raised the roof
“Look in the field where’s the proof?”
And there it was a flattened gate
She’d gone to find an unknown mate.

So here I am with a bucket of grain
Whys it me who walks again?
A car in front a car behind
While in and out of trees I wind
Past the castle and pub too
Don’t use that garden as the public loo!
Oh no if they look from behind that curtain
A heart attack it’s almost certain.

Now with what seems my very last breath
I remember the plot of Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
But as I look at her bewildered eye
The greater urge is one to cry.
So in my anger and immense frustration
I throw the bucket with no hesitation
And sit in the car
And think you know
It’s a good thing I love my buffalo!

Postscript....

Alas a sad tale now at an end
she drove the neighbours round the bend
so in a lorry then far away
with a hundreds of others she'll have her day,
Yes theres a bull a handsome lad
and no one cares now if she's bad..........
