Had a fright this morning when I discovered one of my dogs had eaten about 3/4's of a hyacinth bulb, he pinched it out of the shed, straight in to panic mode as I know they are poisenous but wasn't sure how poisenous, looked it up on the internet and as far as I could gather as long as he'd not eaten loads he shouls be ok, rang vet as well and he said the same.

So, just thought I would remind everyone that a lot of bulbs are toxic (especially daffodil and narcissis, they can have fatal results), as it's the time of year when we're thinking about planting bulbs just be careful to keep them out of the way of pets!

Thanks for the reminder... weird to think that daffodil bulbs are poisonous when you can actually eat the flowers. (Honestly! I was once in a rather posh pub where the young lady at the table next to me, obviously a little drunk and showing off, irritated the landlord by eating the vase of daffodils on her table :) )
