I am passing this on to you to get an idea of what you think about developments (and developers) in our capital city. Watch this DVD!

Actually the heart of Edinburgh is St. Giles. But I take your point. The new parliament building is like a third rate bingo hall. But what about Caltongate? Is it really so bad? Or is it going to be a blight on the landscape?

Sorry Rich get your facts right, the Heart you speak of is the Heart of Midlothian, not St Giles, see below

And our Scottish Parliament is not a 3rd rate bingo hall, but a very 21st century building, better looked at from the inside I have to say than the outside.
And personally I see nothing wrong with the idea of the Caltongate, as long as they do not damage the Canongate, there is talk of part of the Canongate being demolished, but if they add something sympathetic in the vein of the Radison Hotel, then I am sure we will enjoy it. The proposed site for the Caltongate was just a derilict bus garage and car park and a few derilict warehouses on the Calton Road
