Greetings from a down-under Baikie.
Baikie’s not a very common name around here, so I’ve recently started a research of local registry and a UK web-site that has linked my Great Grandfather back to Skafskerry in the Parish of Dunnet. His name was James Gunn Baikie, born in 1862, and his siblings were William, Alexander, Maryann and David. It seems that the family lived in Skafskerry for at least 3 generations. My great great grandfather was George Baikie who married Mary Gunn and his father was William Baikie who would have been born around 1786 and married Christina Baikie, born around 1796.
I’d be very interested to hear from anyone related to this family and /or to know more about Skarskerry.
Regards,
Ron Baikie (Sydney, Australia)
