Franz Ferdinand are going to be playing a few highland dates during their September Scottish tour. They'll be playing:

A couple of years ago, FF singer Alex Kapranos asked me about venues in the Far North, as he knew I was from Caithness. I told him it never got dark during the summer, and that the views to Orkney were spectacular. At the time he said wanted FF to play John O' Groats but that was never going to happen. FF did want to play Caithness, but alas it hasn't happened. I wonder why?
