Never easy getting a picture from 12 miles away.
Atmospheric conditions will nearly always make a mess of the pic.
I took a picture of the first one now this is the 2nd being installed.

Smith Bank in the Moray Firth.
Beatrice oil field.
The present operation can be seen through binoculars from Wick to Dunbeath.

For more information on the new wind turbines off the Caithness coast go to
http://www.beatricewind.co.uk/

This is the first deep water wind farm in the UK as a demontration of the potential and if proved to be successful many more are likely to join the present pair.

Caithness seems to be forging ahead in alternative energy schemes both as tests and actual projects.

The ones I can think of at the moment are -
A solar roof at fish market at Wick Harbour now running for over two years
See http://www.caithness.org/atoz/wick/photogallery/index.php?gallery=75&start=0

Caithness Heat and Power wood chip heating scheme now working its way round Pulteneytown and south Wick
See http://www.caithness.org/chap/index.htm

Wind Farms in various places with more on the way.
See http://www.caithness.org/windfarms/index.htm

Eyes are being turned ever more towards the Pentland Firth to see if it can be tapped a source of power but there are huge problems in harnessing it. the Europen Marine Energy Centre in Stromness is tsting a variety of machines that might become commercial - see http://www.emec.org.uk/
