Marriage Clyne/McLeod

I have a reference on two birth certificates for an 1886 marriage in Wick.

1.16th July 1886 of Catherine Clyne and Alexander McLeod. I know this to be correct date.
2.23rd July 1886 of Catherine Clyne and Alexander McLeod. ???

Can someone confirm if these were 2 separate marriages or if the 1890 birth certificate made a mistake.

These two dates may very well be cooect. the first may have been the reading of the Banns and the scond the actual wedding date.I think this was a fairly common practice
