We have a nice little Literature forum,
It's always fun and never boring,
For those who like to make words rhyme,
This is the place for a jolly good time!

We get the urge, it comes on fast,
Fingers to keyboards, while thought waves last,
First one line, and then another,
'Tis so much fun, it's worth the bother!

Our inspiration comes in a flash,
We get words down in one mad dash,
It's like a little game you see,
This play with words fills me with glee! :)

It's true we are a funny lot
Searching for rhymes that hit that spot
The very word! or maybe not?
Not quick enough to pen that thought!

Some days it's hard to find a mo'
The thoughts come fast, the lines come slow,
Searching high and searching low,
I wonder why it's always so?

Hippocrates: "arts longa... vita brevis..."
Geoffrey Chaucer: "The lyf so short, the craft so long to lerne"

Not that I'm comparing myself to either...! ;)[lol]

A compact little company, small yet sweet
Each creating fine words, every post is a treat
On subjects of import that really do matter
Or just logging on for a crack and a natter

In content sublime, this fine little forum
We'll entertain all, amuse 'em, not bore 'em
All most polite, with manners exquisite
Best in the world; what do you think, is it?

But I must state my fear, it's all gone very quiet
Since my post about Dunnet, did it cause a riot?
Did reference to stuff on the beach that we love
Mean my stock's in decline, have I been gi'ed the shove?

Tubthumper, we are polite,
We do not snap, we do not bite!
I think some folk must be away
Enjoying a summer holiday! :D

Welcome back Tubthumper,
I wondered where you were,
Your poems are very clever,
And full of great endeavour.

We like to read your wordies,
'Bout beaches, bays and birdies,
Whatever you write about,
You certainly have some clout!

Ochanee......

I'm sittin alo-un
in my ho-um
Tryin till write
a wee po-um
I got quite excited
When I sat doon
Till write it
But now the words
wont co-um.

Know the feeling ?

Ah ken whit ye mean
'Tis a scene I have seen
Wheniver Ah'm keen
Tae vent my wee spleen

Ah want tae write some
But Ah'm suddenly dumb
The wurds willnae come
Ma heid goes aw numb

It just seems tae me
When somethin' I see
That makes jerky knee
The wurds just run free

But if this daft loon
Can think of a choon
Inspiration shuts doon
An' I sit in a stoon

Now whisky and beer
Make fur poetic cheer
The muse shuffles near
My heid gets in gear

But here comes the gype
That causes my snipe
As oot pours the tripe
Ah jist cannae type!
