Does any orger have any idea about the 3 mast sailing ship in the Pentland Firth today - I think it was going somewhere in the Orkneys', but I'm not sure.

Didn't see it, but could it be the one Bill Fernie photographed and put on the front page a day or two back that was in Wick Harbour?

Hi Ya JimH
It came round Duncansby head this afternoon and headed south quite tight in.

Forgive me if this isn't a schooner (as far as I know it isn't) but could it have been the Staatsradt Lehmkuhl (http://www.jeff.wave.no/PhotoAlbum/2000/00_06_26_Lebmkubl/index.html), a frequent visitor to Kirkwall from Bergen?

Beautiful ship. The Norwegian kids are nice, too..... although one or two of them sometimes find the relatively low cost of alcohol irresistible and end up cooling off in the local nick  . But a more polite, reasonable and pleasant bunch of people would be hard to find.

You could well be right, (personally, I would not know a schooner from a battleship), and many thanks for the link.
