can't believe there's another planning application in today's groat for a windfarm. in the last 4 weeks there's been 3 windfarm applications. why is everyone picking on caithness to make their ill-gotten gains at other's expense.

You see if the Windfactory Developers all put in their applications a few weeks apart they know that they all cant be knocked back ,some will get approval. If they were taken one at a time NONE would go through ..
..I could say i told you so !!
Caithness gets what it deserves ..some will only be happy when the place is covered with Turbines all standing shoulder to shoulder and producing nothing but Carbon Credits so others can keep on polluting....

There were two men in Thurso precinct yesterday getting people to sign petitions FOR windfarms in Caithness one for Forss and the other for Spittal Hill, they were approaching people with the tactic of climate change, they must have had at least 250 people sign for them it was unbelievable,

People sign them because they don't like to say "no". That's why no one takes any notice of petitions. Or shouldn't do. If you can get a copy of the petition sheet and statement they made to people, and show it's prejudicial to an unbiased answer, send it to the planners with a covering letter.

The two men are in Wick today. Giving out leaflets and badges if you sign the petition.

Many of these proposed industrial sites are on peatland which rather defeats the purpose of reducing carbon emissions as you will see if you listen to the final six mins. of last Saturday's Open Country broadcast on
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/factual/opencountry.shtml

It seems we should be preserving the peat and encouraging it, not destroying it. Makes you wonder whether those nice people handing out leaflets actually know what they're talking about.

This reminds me of the program Pen and Teller did on activism, they went round a whole large group of people at an environment festival and asked them to sign a petition ban dihydrogen monoxide and said that people should stop using it and create less of it, what they didn't know was the petition was to stop using water because thats what dihydrogen monoxide is. You should have seen their faces when it was explained to them [lol] Most people will say yes to anything if they feel they are being pro-active without giving any thought to the subject at hand.

Now be honest, if someone came up to you in the street and said they were raising a petition to force the government to reduce the levels of dihydrogen monoxide in the world, would you sign it just to get rid of them ;)

anyway back to subject. If there are a huge amount of people bothered by wind farms, why not get together with tents and take over the ground they are going to build them on, that will get some attention.

Nice suggestion Jeemag but have you seen how many sites there are? If not see the Sites page at http://www.caithnesswindfarms.co.uk/ . There aren't enough tents to go round  .

Yep, that is quite a few isn't it, everybody cashing in, see a few local names in there. That one in south Shebster wouldn't happen to be Charlie Sutherland from Raey would it

The new council policy is to fast track all planning applications, so if people want to stop windfarms they need to be fast. A lot of planning applications are not even being passed to the planning committee for decision because of this fast tracking.
Just thought people out there should be warned of this!!!!!

And the news is, there's more on the way. 20 years from now, you won't be able to look anywhere on the Caithness horizon without seeing one.
