Can anyone recommend a RELIABLE timber frame supplier. I'd been hoping to use a well known one local to Thurso but never get any reply to my email, the telephone is always answered by a machine and messages are never returned [evil]

I have £20k waiting for the one that will actually give even modest customer service :confused

Can't recommend them as don't know what they are like, but we have been looking into timber framed house kits and found these two websites, both of whom sent literature to us the next day.

http://www.scotframe.co.uk/

if by any chance you do go with either of them, let me know how you get on :D

Thanks Dragonfly. I'll get some info off those two and add to the pile!!! I'm sure I'll find a decent supplier eventually :D

You should try Robbie Burns in Halkirk. Tel: 01847 831456 or address is Crescent Street, Halkirk, email: graemeburns@lycos.co.uk

Not sure you will get a lot for £20k, though.[/quote]

The one in Brora you may have been thinking of could be Heartland Homes. They supply fairly good kit houses. Although if you want to go local there is nothing wrong with Norscot who supply good quality timber frames and backed up with good customer service.

Norscot - www.norscot.co.uk
Naver Ltd - www.naver.co.uk (they will draw any plans to your custom requirements)

Apart from those M.M. Miller do their own range of kits, but may be better off with above suggestions.

That wasn't my experience - I asked for a quote for windows a few years back and the salesman was just a chancer - he gave an OOT quote then when I challendged it suddenly lopped a thousand quid off it! I don't trust that kind of approach.
