Thurso Bay, I miss you Thurso Bay,
With Dunnet Head at east,
And Holborn Head at west,
A view that's one of best!

And across the Pentland Firth,
Hoy the Orkney Island,
Its Old Man standing there,
Tall, rugged and silent.

Thurso Bay, oh bonnie Thurso Bay,
I miss your deep dark waters,
Sailed by fishermen,
And leisurely boat yachters.

Many a tale you could tell,
If only you could speak,
Your winter waters angry,
And summer waters meek!

Thurso Bay, I miss you Thurso Bay,
Beneath the Caithness sky,
I never will forget you,
You're in my own mind's eye!

One night I stood on cliffs above the bay
And gazed the Orkney Way.
The cliffs of Hoy turned they turned to red,
A magic sight it must be said.

Another time the surf came in like snow,
The breakers rolling long an' slow,
And yet again the seals will play,
And eider ducks swim their way.

With magic charm and special light,
Thurso bay is such a sight,
It can take the breath away
And salt ye're face with it's spray!
