On receiving some emails.
by a Caithness lass.

The morning sunshine woke me up at seven,
I had a shower then quickly I got dressed,
But today I hope that I will be forgiven -
I forgot to put on my woollie vest !

I'd opened up my emails that very morning
Hoping the computer wis working richt
And a couple of Es had come straight doon from Caithness
It warms my hert till see such a sicht.

And there among the rubbish in my emails
I found some songs to brighten up my day,
I've been singing the best of old Caithness wordies
To the lovely, dear old tune of 'Galway Bay''

The next time I go o'er the Ord to Caithness,
Be sure that I'll be singing all the day
As I drive out from the little toon o Helmsdale,
I'll be thinking 'My Goad, I've come a helluva long way!'

But it will be worth it.
