Hi all,

First time posting. My great-grandfather Alexander Mallis MacGregor, I was told owned MacGregor mercantile shop. My family told me it’s still in the MacGregor family. I’m looking for any info on my great-grandfather and the shop. Also, if anyone may know how to research his ancestors in Thurso Caithness, Scotland. Can anyone please explain Caithness to me? Any other info is greatly appreciated! I live in Denver, Colorado. Thank you Mike

My great-grandfather emigrated to the US in 1907. His wife’s name was Elizabeth Jane Shearer. His oldest son was Duncan and my grandfather was the 2nd oldest, Archibald. If anyone can help with info on my great-grandmother Elizabeth also. Thank you.
