Has anyone ever been in one? Just wondered what they are like. I have seen photo's of them and was wondering if an orgers had ever had a look in one.

had a look inside one of the ones at ackergill tower, I assume once the floor would have been kept clean, now has a thick layer of filth, plain walls up to above head height and then there are boxes sunk into the walls to replicate the doves/pigeons nest sites.and ledges for doves/pigeons to rest on and then above that the holes to allow enterance and exit

I would imagine that there would have been a ladder at one point to reach the young birds/eggs as these were a staple source of meat in the winters

I've been in a few and they are all basically the same although some can be really tiny and others are huge. The pigeon holes tend to be higher up but beware the smell!
