Could someone from the "birdwatching" community, please advise on a good book with all our local birdies & visitors for me. Finches seem to be more noticeable in our area than last year and the "Bill Oddie" in me is curious to learn more:lol:

Hope this helps...:)

You are such a spoilsport, Dunderheed. Give a novice a break and some time to learn their way round. I am sure she/he will know where to put it next time. ;)

Just bought this one (http://www.amazon.co.uk/RSPB-Complete-Birds-Britain-Europe/dp/0751373540/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/203-0154587-4867917?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1180352222&sr=8-2) from Amazon - ordered it 1:00pm Tuesday, it arrived the next morning in the post. Excellent service, and brilliant book - it's helped me a great deal in identifying our wee feathered visitors! :)

Added: Just noticed, it's showing a 6/9 day dispatch on Amazon, so they must be short on stock or whatever right now. I guess I just hit it lucky!
