Donnington/Milton Keynes

Any war heroes feel like sharing donny/milton keynes memories? There was always a caithness trip to the metal fests of yore, (unlike the pale second cousin that is the current "download" festival) some of them involve having one's insulin thrown into the moshpit, resulting in a trip to the red cross.

Isn't that right, Mr Bad Omlette?

I admit to nothing. ;)

Although the insulin story is true. The Red Cross tent was hopeless. Had to get the doctor to get the chemist in Castle Donington village opened on a Sunday so I could get more supplies.

I have many many stories about trips to Donnington Monsters Of Rock, including one of our local traffic warden walking 20 miles to his campsite after the gig.

My last trip to Milton Keynes (AC/DC in 2001) ended up with me getting lost at 1.30 in the morning having taking a wrong turning on the way back to the hotel. Got there eventually though.

I'm just a walking disaster zone whenever I go to one of these things...

Oh, and it was a dodgy omelette. Honest guv.

I remember stopping off at a greasy spoon on the way to Metallica at Milton Keynes & getting served drink ' round the back of the cafe at aboot 9am ish coz they didna have a licence!
& ma mate who was laughing at us all getting hit by the bottles of emm whatever! at doninton only to turn roond to get hit square on the face by a bag o jam sandwiches !!he was covered it was hysterical!!

Hehe, pal o' mine got hit square on the shoulder with an open 1 gallon container, filled to the brim. He calmly reached round, wiped his finger on his shoulder, licked it and announced:

"It's OK, it wis only cider..."

At the Scottish download in 2004, myself and a fellow caithness metalhead started a wee highland fling during lostprophits. It started wee, and soon half the crowd in the D were all jigging about with last train home pumping out in the backround! Quality :lol:

And of course, the Iggy Pop incident;)

Also at Ozzfest in Milton Keynes a certain bandmate got stage fright when it came to having a jimmy riddle with 60'000 other folk. He didnt pee the whole day!
