just read the paper about town and county under threat of closing , think it has been on the back boiler for a while the harmsworth ward was not used for a while now staffing levels are low on newton ward and staff vacancies are not be advertised , if this is allowed to happen it will mean palliavite care up here is on the way out , as you know that the queen elizabeth ward has been closed and bignold taking there patients this ward is at breaking point ,there is no nursing home places people are waiting months for a bed . if newton ward goes this will only get worse ans they take some of the over spill. Newton ward has worked hard for it certificate of excellence from macmillian cancer care i can speak from expericence that the care they offer is above and beyond . i think caithness nhs is going t be off the radar before long because more and more is being sent down to raigmore.

If T&C were to close it would be an absolute disgrace.

The facilities there could be better utilised in some instances and we need more palliative care beds in the County, not less.

The staff go above and beyond in their patient care and care of the families who experience a loved one in the palliative care suites. They all look happy to be there, and nothing is ever too much trouble to them.
