I guess the title says it all :)

I'm currently a member of the Lochaber Credit Union, and wondered if there was a Credit Union operating in Thurso?

A not-for-profit institution that is operated as a cooperative and offers financial services such as better interest rates on accounts and loans, to its members.

They are regulated in the UK by the Finacial Services Authority.

All members are shareholders. It is a very safe way of saving money, and a very good way of borrowing small sums of money at reasonable rates of interest.

There was rumours of one starting in Wick a few years ago but it didn't come to anything. i think they are a great way of saving and borrowing and if one started in caithness i would certainly join.
